My Hair Care Routine!

“You like my hair? Gee thanks, just bought it”- Ariana Grande, 7 Rings.

I recently cut my hair after almost 2 years of growing it out. I always loved my long hair and thought it suit me best. I also had trust issues finding a stylist!

I decided to cut it because it was getting too long to maintain. It would get caught in my backpack, fall into food, and just get in the way. It was so pretty but it was time for a change!

This January, I decided to just do it and make the phone call to cut it. It was actually after my lecture for PUB 101!

Here is my hair in December 2018, before cutting it.

And this is my hair after cutting it in January 2019.

It is a little hard to see as I have not taken many photos of it since, but my hair went from being almost to my waist to a little below my shoulder.

Something that people questioned me on is how I have kept my hair so healthy after not cutting it for almost 2 years. Here is where I come in to help you!

Hair Routine:

I just wanted to note that these are the products that work for me and my hair type. It is oily and sometimes dry in the winter.

I should note that these can all be found in the drugstore unless otherwise specified!

These are all my own opinions and I am not being paid to talk about these products.

Shampoo: Anti-Breakage+ Keratin Oil Shampoo by OGX.

This is a new OGX shampoo I have been using. I previously used Pantene shampoo but decided to change it up.

This shampoo smells like a cookie and makes my hair feel so fresh! I can go on third day hair and it looks good as new still. It makes my hair feel soft and gives me the same satisfaction I received when using Pantene.

Conditioner: Pantene Pro V Beautiful Length’s Conditioner

I recently have entered into the magical conditioner world. I previously used a 2-in-1 shampoo that have both shampoo and conditioner. Although, it did get the job done, I do notice a difference in using a conditioner alone.

This Pantene conditioner has made my hair feel so much more full and cleaner by using a little every other wash. By using a little, it last for a long while. A must buy!

Leave In Conditioner: Garnier Fructis Active Fruit Protein Sleek &
Shine Smooth Leave in Conditioner with Argan Oil

This is one of my OG products. I have been using this leave-in conditioner since high school! I put a little bit in my hands as my hair is wet hair right before I blow-dry it and focus on the scalp moving down to the ends of my hair. I have noticed that a little (size of a quarter or less) is enough when you have shorter hair whereas when I had long hair, I would put quite a lot.

The Garnier Frutcis Leave-In Conditioner has made my haircare routine after showers easy in the maintenance factor!

Serum: TresemeĂ© Kertain Smooth Shine Serum

Another one of my OG’s! I like to apply this after the leave-in conditioner. I use a small amount and focus it on my ends when my hair is wet and work my way to my scalp. It does add smoothness and shine!

Oil: Hask Argan Oil Healing Shine with Added Keratin

I actually received this in an advent calendar in 2017! It has lasted so long. I use it on the ends of my hair when it is wet and use a dime size amount. It adds a healthy touch!

Hair Brushes: Round Bristle Brush and Small Wide Comb Pick

Hack: I bought the small Wide Comb at the Dollar store!

Right before I start putting in all of the products listed above, I brush through my hair with the Wide Comb Pick. It helps gently separate my hair and take out any tangles.

I use the rounded brush to style my hair when blowdrying it and it helps make sure I have reached each section of my hair. It also helps smooth it down and add volume. I have not mastered it yet, but it adds some nice flare to your hair and can give you a blowout look!

And that is my entire routine for the time being! I do not use dry shampoo because I do not like the way it looks on me personally but I know one day I will use it.

These are all the products I have been loving and am open to any suggestions you have to improve my routine or let me know if you pick up any of these products đŸ™‚
